He is recognized worldwide as an industry expert in the methodologies, calculations, and differences in reliability reporting for NERC GADS, CEA ERIS, UNIPEDE, and IEEE. Ron has more than 10 years of practical experience in the design, development, and application of analytical, reporting, and benchmarking tools that have been widely accepted in the power generation industry. Since 2004, he has managed Solomon’s computer software applications in the power generation industry.</p>
<p>Ron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Missouri – Rolla. As the Secretary for the working group responsible for rewriting IEEE Standard 762, Ron wrote portions of the IEEE Standard 762-2006 revision and is considered one of the world’s recognized experts on the matter.</p>

His broad experience in both domestic US and international power sectors includes over 29 years experience of power asset management, operations and maintenance in business and technical leadership roles. As a division Vice President, Tony supported operational readiness for new plants as well as the business and technical support functions for Dynegy Generation’s gas turbine fleet of 6,500 MWs. Prior to Dynegy he was Managing Director – Latin America in Illinova Generating Company’s Asset Management group and held various positions in Illinois Power Company.</p>
<p>Tony is a graduate of the University of Illinois- Urbana-Champaign, earning an Executive MBA degree. Additionally, Tony holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Southern Illinois University. Tony is a regular contributing editor to <em>Power Engineering</em> magazine.</p>

He held positions as Plant Manager of an 800 MW coal-fired electric generating station, and Maintenance and Operations Managers at a 550 MW fossil-fueled electric generating station. As Project Manager for Solomon since 2001, Rod helps clients analyze their business and develop programs to improve operational and financial performance. With a fundamental knowledge of how to optimize an asset and its operational costs, Rod has helped numerous clients with their improvement efforts in the area of dispatch, maintenance, and energy optimization.</p>
<p>Rod holds a Master of Science in Management from Cardinal Stritch College and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.  A registered Professional Engineer in Wisconsin, Rod has also taken additional course work in the Executive Management Program at the University of Wisconsin &#8211; Madison.</p>
