International management consulting firm specializing in performance improvement consulting to the energy industry is looking for an experienced engineering professional to serve as a Senior Consultant for its Energy business unit. The engineer will work with other professionals on energy conservation studies and yield improvement consulting assignments.
The position involves energy systems, process modeling, and data/benchmarking analysis. Top-notch technical, operational, and analytical knowledge combined with advanced computer application skills (simulation modeling, spreadsheets, databases, and graphics) are required. The position requires an understanding of the broad international business issues facing the refining and petrochemical industries and an in-depth understanding of the economic driving forces.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of experience in the following areas:
- Energy Conservation and Management
Heat exchanger network modeling and optimization
Fractionation modeling of refining and petrochemical units
Site-wide fuel gas, hydrogen, steam, and electric power modeling
Boiler and cogen firing optimization and feedwater treatment
- Operations Management
Combustion control systems (APC experience a plus)
Plant yields and overall refinery and olefin economics
The preferred candidate will have 5–10 years experience in process engineering of refining or petrochemicals, and be interested in joining a dynamic consulting firm with ambitious expansion and growth plans. Excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to function effectively in diverse cultures are a must. Applicants must have an engineering degree, preferably chemical engineering, and be willing to travel domestically and internationally.
