As a Senior Consultant, Richard Thut has been helping Solomon’s refining clients to improve their performance since 2008. He applies that experience to his work on the 2008 Fuels Refinery Comparative Performance Analysis.

Richard has more than 30 years’ experience in the refining industry holding engineering and analyst roles for companies including Celanese Chemical Company and Champlin Petroleum. As a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas, he is an active member in several professional organizations including ASME, AIChE, NFPA, TSPE and NSPE. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University as well as a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Dallas.
